Having studied Sports Science at what was Brighton Polytechnic and graduating in 1989, Karen retrained to pursue a career in Environmental Health in the mid 1990’s. She retained her love of sport though and, after some short studies in holistic massage and sports injury treatment and prevention, decided to return to more therapy focused role in in 2015. Karen was awarded a Level 4 Diploma in Sports Therapy in 2017, qualifying in Sports Massage in the same year. She is also trained in taping and Maitland Mobilisations (I-IV).
Sports therapy is the clinical assessment of sports or other soft tissue injury; injury treatment including taping, sports massage and joint mobilisations; provision of individually tailored rehabilitation programs to help get a patient back to their desired level of activity and help prevent future injury occurring.
