INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE
Indian Head massage derives from Ayurveda, the traditional medical system in northern India. The therapist uses a range of movements including application of deep kneading and compression over the neck, shoulders and scalp and will also gently stimulate and stroke pressure points on the face.
This treatment is deeply relaxing and calms the mind: a firm yet gentle rhythm of massage helps to relieve muscular discomfort and tension, thereby improving circulation in the head, which enhances the senses and promotes clear thinking.
The overall intention is to release tress accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders, which gives relief from tension, fatigue, insomnia, headache and migraine. In Western culture today we spend too much time in our heads and this kind of massage can play an important role in quietening the mind, body & spirit.
